Silent Bob speaks again! Kevin Smith, the outspoken film icon and the most successful indie filmmaker in history, returns to Toronto for another legendary night of no-holds-barred Q&A that reveals the bizarre and hilarious world of movies and geekdom.

Born and raised in New Jersey and proud of it Smith quickly found fame with his low-budget debut Clerks, which won the highest award at Sundance and was brought to theatres by Mirmax. Subsequent work like Chasing Amy (starring then-rising stars Ben Affleck and Jason Lee) and the controversial Dogma secured Smiths reputation for uncompromising humour and boldly tackling controversial themes. In 2006, Smith completed the sequel to his first film, Clerks II, while this year saw the bold comedy Zach & Miri Make A Porno (starring Seth Rogan and Elizabeth Banks) strike gold at the box office.

Smiths own acting career began with the appearance of the iconic Silent Bob in Clerks. Clad in a black trenchcoat and alongside the chattering Jay (played by Jason Mewes), Silent Bob and his partner have appeared in most all of the Smith canon, including the titular Hollywood farce, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Other roles have included Catch & Release and Live Free or Die Hard.

Smiths writing career includes successful runs penning adventures for comic book heroes Daredevil and Green Arrow, as well as best-selling collections of musings first appearing on his outstanding website The View Askew. Smith has also been attached to feature film versions of Superman and The Green Hornet, but has so far elected to stay closer to his indie roots. Smith also owns a comic store, and produces shorts for The Tonight Show.

Smiths foray into hilarious Q&A sessions before a live audience of fans has become the stuff of legend, revealing the Jersey natives natural ability as a storyteller with innate comic timing. These sessions have been known to stretch for hours, and have been captured on three best-selling DVDs.
