Hilltop Hoods already dominate the Hip Hop scene in their native Australia, and they are bringing their explosive live show to Canada, in hopes of doing the same right here. The boys, Suffa (Matt Lambert), Pressure (Daniel Smith), DJ Debris (Barry Francis) recently toured across the country with Canadian rapper Classified, but this will be their first headlining tour in Canada.

They gained recognition for their first EP Back Once Again in 1997. With this, they brought the struggling genre of Hip Hop, back into the forefront in Australia. They followed up with 5 more albums three of which went platinum. Their most recent album, State of the Art was released under the bands own label Golden Era Records and it debuted at number one on the Australian ARIA charts.

Though the band has been influenced by rappers such as Notorious B.I.G., KRS-One, Gang Starr, Wu-Tang Clan and Public Enemy, they have never lost touch with the unique flavour they created in the Adelaide Hills as young Hip Hop fans. With a sound that is both innovative and fearless, the Hilltop Hoods have been embraced far beyond their initial underground audience. Theyve gained fans of rock, dance, casual radio listeners, and even the critics.

Critics alike all agree Hilltop Hoods are a force to be reckoned with as well. Rolling Stone said their new album is set to blow the local music scene wide open, cementing Hilltop Hoods not just as the countrys premiere Hip Hop act, but one of the most defining and influential Australian bands of this decade and the next.
